Total Displacement = cubic inches ( liters)
Compression ratio = :1

*Piston Volume: Enter a positive number for a domed piston. Negative number for a piston with valve reliefs or dish, and 0 for a true flat-top with no reliefs. Most flattop pistons have -4 to -6 cc's for the valve reliefs. Check the manufacturers catalogs for exact volumes.

Checking for deck height
*Gasket Thickness & Deck Volume: Thickness of the compressed head gasket. Typically around .040", check the manufacturers catalog for exact thickness, or measure a used head gasket with calipers. Also, in this field, add or subtract for the amount the piston sits below or above the surface of the block at TDC. Example, if gasket is 0.050" thick, and piston is 0.020" below deck, enter a total of 0.070". If the piston is 0.010" above deck surface, and head gasket is 0.040" thick, you'd enter 0.030".
